Using this ability, one could grow plants to enormous proportions nearly any environment, and use them as weapons that can grab and attack with vines and roots ( or release neurotoxins and pheromones), which quickly regenerate at the user’s will. Sometimes people can even control plants in their concentrated form, like clothes, paper and money. Myra can only control so much at one time, smaller things like vines or grass can be done quite easily but pulling things up from underground like tree roots takes much more concentration and energy out of her. The larger the or further from the sun the item in question is, the more effort it takes for her to control it. Myra's powers allow her to manipulate the living plant life around her. She can cause plants and wood to grow faster than their normal rate, make vines grow and entangle a person; she can pull roots from their resting place and trip you or cause them to do more damage. Her powers allow her to control plant life that is alive or not completely dead - for instance, a browned dried up leaf will not work whereas a leaf that has fallen from a tree and is a fall color would - this does not apply to woods. Eventually she will be able to make dead things grow - whether they be leaf, flower or plant, but at the moment she does not have that control. Myra cannot create plant life or organic matter - she can only manipulate what is already there. Personality: Loud and opinionated when she is comfortable with her surroundings, Myra is all around a nice young woman. Despite this fact she can be very smug when challeneged and has been known to make plans for payback in her devious little mind. Admittedly she is a bit of an introvert when it comes to her abilities. Not having been in a situation previously where it was acceptable to use them or even acknowledge them, she is more likely to be nervous about them (at least at first). Well...at least until she gets comfortable in her new situation. Although once very close with her parents, the situation caused much of the way she is to be ignore for a long time. Even with this - when she gets used to the new atmosphere of Xavier's she will likely open up. Despite all of this, when challeneged, Myra will rise to the occation, often letting her natural smugness shine through when dealing with someone she finds interesting. She likes puzzles and knowing how things work. History: The daughter of a well-to-do couple, Myra Valerie Stebbins grew up in the village of Dobbs Ferry in Westchester, New York. A junior at Ardsley High School - in the neighboring village of Ardsley, NY - Myra spent her time after school alternating between practices for the Varsity soccer team (The Panthers) and working with her best friend Jacob Massley at Massley and Ellwyn Auto Body - owned by Jacob's dad and his partner. The oldest of two siblings, Myra and her family led a relatively ordinary life. Game nights were Thursdays, pizza nights were alternating Tuesdays and the turtle always had to be fed. Two months into the new school year, during a soccer practice someone tripped on the field. What seemed to be an innocent slip was the start of a chain of events that changed Myra's life forever. As it later turned out, the school's left forward - Madeline Epstien - had not tripped, grass had snaked around her left ankle and had tripped her. No one understood how it had happened or how it could have happened and the incident was soon forgotten. Three weeks later it happened again to one of Myra's friends as the group including her and her best friend Jacob walked across the quad for lunch. It was a day when Myra was pissed at her friend Adam (who had tripped). In another instance Myra had been severely disturbed to find that a tree had stretched its branches somehow through the glass window of her room in the middle of a thunder storm - breaking it in the process. Strange instances continued for another month before she and Jacob put together the pieces. There was something wrong with her and neither of them could figure out how to stop it. Agreeing to keep it quiet - something between them - the two were unfortunately overheard by another member of their clique who told the others. When Myra's parents found out neither Michael nor Amelia Stebbins knew what to do. The fact that their daughter could cause damage, could make things happen scared them immensely. After intense discussion the decision was made by her parents that the best thing they could do was to send her away. Where they didn't know, but Myra vehemently did not want to go. It took crying, pleading, begging and promises not to use her abilities before Mike and Amelia agreed to let their daughter stay... It became a secret - something not discussed, not dealt with, it just hung over their heads - something known but ignored to the best of their ability. The only people who actually seemed not to care were Jacob and Myra's younger brother Damian - who did not get along with his sister. Over the next few months, Myra tried her hardest not to let anything happen - not to cause anything to happen. The more she tried, the more slip ups there would be the more she became paranoid about her abilities - not wanting to be sent away - to be kicked out of the house. As she ignored them however, her abilities continued to grow, making ignoring them that much harder. Over the years, Myra found her place at Xaviers, leading their soccer team to the tri-county championships two years running... and then she had to quit the team. Myra was approached about joining the team, having shown that her powers were successfully developed enough and she had enough control. Unfortunately she had a lot of work to do. Training was no walk in the park, worse yet came on a personal level when her mother left her father once her brother's natural water-based mutation developed. It went without saying that Damian took it very poorly. His extreme dislike for his sister turning inward, leading to a suicide attempt before he was finally brought to Xavier's as a student, under extremely close watch. Now a full-fledged member of the X-Men, Myra doubles as the school's soccer coach and gym teacher (sharing the duties with another instructor). She works on cars with the students in her spare time between missions and training.
